Solar Activity
.24 hr Summary...
Solar activity was at low levels. Region 4416 (N19E01, Dai/beta)
produced a C1.1/Sf flare at 11/1024 UTC. Plage area 4411 (S06, L=114)
produced a C1.9 flare at 11/2324 UTC. Region 4416 was the only spotted
region on the disk to exhibit growth over the past 24 hours. No
Earth-directed CMEs were observed in available coronagraph imagery.
.Forecast...
Solar activity is likely to be low, with a slight chance for M-flares
(R1-R2/Minor-Moderate), over 12-14 Apr.
Energetic Particle
.24 hr Summary...
The greater than 2 MeV electron flux was at high levels with a peak flux
of 1,081 pfu. The greater than 10 MeV proton flux was at background
levels.
.Forecast...
The greater than 2 MeV electron flux is expected to be at normal to
moderate levels on 11-12 Apr, with high levels likely on 13 Apr. The
greater than 10 MeV proton flux is expected to remain at background
levels.
Solar Wind
.24 hr Summary...
Solar wind parameters reflected continued influence from a positive
polarity coronal hole. Total magnetic field strength was 5-11 nT and Bz
reached as far south as -6 nT. Solar wind speeds varied between ~550-650
km/s. Phi angle was predominantly positive.
.Forecast...
Solar wind parameters are expected to remain enhanced over 12-14 Apr due
to +CH HSS effects.
Geospace
.24 hr Summary...
The geomagnetic field reached active levels under the influence of a
positive polarity CH HSS.
.Forecast...
The geomagnetic field is likely to reach active conditions are likely on
12 Apr, with quiet to unsettled levels likely on 13 Apr, as +CH HSS
influences wane. Active levels are again likely on 14 Apr.
