Solar Activity
.24 hr Summary...
Solar activity was low. Minor growth was observed in Regions 4384
(N08W68, Dao/beta), 4391 (N05E21, Dro/beta), and 4393 (N13E37,
Cso/beta). The remaining regions were stable. No Earth-directed CMEs
were observed.
.Forecast...
Solar activity is expected to be at low levels, with a slight chance for
M-class (R1-R2/Minor-Moderate) flares through 15 Mar.
Energetic Particle
.24 hr Summary...
The greater than 2 MeV electron flux reached high levels with a peak
flux of 2,940 pfu observed at 12/1545 UTC. The greater than 10 MeV
proton flux was at background levels.
.Forecast...
The greater than 2 MeV electron flux is expected to reach high levels on
13 Mar, moderate levels on 14 Mar, and high levels again on 15 Mar. The
greater than 10 MeV proton flux is expected to continue at background
levels through 15 Mar.
Solar Wind
.24 hr Summary...
Background solar wind conditions prevailed throughout the period. Total
field strength reached 7 nT and the Bz component varied between +/-5 nT.
Solar wind speeds ranged between 380-480 km/s. The phi angle was mostly
negative throughout the period.
.Forecast...
Enhanced solar wind conditions are expected to prevail through 15 Mar
due to positive polarity CH HSS influences.
Geospace
.24 hr Summary...
The geomagnetic field was at quiet to unsettled levels.
.Forecast...
Periods of G1 (Minor) geomagnetic storming are likely on 13-14 Mar, with
active conditions likely on 15 Mar, due to positive polarity CH HSS
influences.
