U.S. DAILY SITUATION REPORT (SITREP)
================================================================================
DATE: May 15, 2026 | TIME: 18:00 EST
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

[ BLUF: BOTTOM LINE UP FRONT ]
-----------------------------
TRUMP-XI SUMMIT CONCLUDES WITH LANDMARK "HORMUZ OPENNESS" ACCORD; U.S.
DECLARES
"EFFECTIVE CONTROL" OF THE STRAIT AS NAVAL MINE CLEARANCE REACHES 90%. DHS
REPORTS 12 CONSECUTIVE MONTHS OF "ZERO RELEASES" AT THE SOUTHERN BORDER.
LEBANON-ISRAEL TALKS PRODUCE A 45-DAY CEASEFIRE EXTENSION. TWO NEW
WILDFIRES
(LOOKOUT POINT & COVE) ERUPTED IN NORTHERN CALIFORNIA THIS AFTERNOON.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I. THE IRAN WAR (OPERATION EPIC FURY - DAY 77)
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
* BEIJING ACCORD: President Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping
concluded
talkS today with a joint declaration that the Strait of Hormuz "must
remain
open." China has pledged to withhold military equipment from Iran and
facilitate a permanent reopening of the waterway.
* STRAIT STATUS: ADM Brad Cooper (CENTCOM) informed the Senate that U.S.
forces
now essentially "control" the Strait. Operation Epic Fury has
neutralized
over 90% of Iran's 8,000 naval mines. Iran retains "moderate to small"
capability for regional strikes.
* DIPLOMATIC STANDOFF: Iran's Foreign Minister Araghchi stated Tehran
"cannot
trust the Americans" and is maintaining a "shaky" ceasefire only to
allow
diplomacy a chance. Iran continues to demand war reparations and
recognition of sovereignty over the Strait—terms the U.S. labels
"non-starters."
* LEBANON FRONT: A 45-day extension of the Israel-Lebanon cessation of
hostilities was signed today. Military delegations will meet at the
Pentagon on May 29 to discuss long-term border security.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
II. HOMELAND SECURITY (DHS)
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
* BORDER ENFORCEMENT: Secretary Markwayne Mullin announced today that
the U.S.
has achieved 12 consecutive months of "ZERO releases" at the border.
Daily
apprehensions are down 95% compared to the previous administration.
* CRIMINAL REMOVALS: During "Police Week" operations, ICE conducted a
surge in
arrests of "Worst of the Worst" criminal illegal aliens, including
sexual
predators and child pornographers. Sec. Mullin was on the ground with
officers in Virginia for high-priority removals.
* NARCOTICS INTERDICTION: CBP reports a 60% increase in drug seizures
(cocaine,
meth, fentanyl) since April 2024. Heroin seizures specifically increased
73% over the last 30 days.
* TRADE: $21.6 billion in duties were identified for collection in April
2026
as CBP ramps up enforcement against counterfeit goods and forced labor.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
III. SEVERE WEATHER & WILDFIRES
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
* CALIFORNIA WILDFIRES (NEW STARTS):
- LOOKOUT POINT FIRE: Reported at 14:02 EST in Butte County. Burning on
private land; containment is currently 0%.
- COVE FIRE: Reported at 12:57 EST in Shasta County. Burning on private
land; containment status unknown.
* MIDWEST/OHIO VALLEY: A warm stretch of weather is beginning. Isolated
showers and thunderstorms are expected for the Pittsburgh metro and
Upper
Ohio Valley Saturday evening (6-11 PM) with a "Slight Risk" of severe
weather development.
* TEXAS PANHANDLE: Record high temperatures (100°F+) continue to fuel
isolated erratic storm development. High wind advisories remain in
effect
for Amarillo and surrounding areas.
* NORTHEAST: In West Bradford Township, PA, current conditions are mostly
cloudy at 66°F with northwest winds at 7 mph. Skies are expected to
clear
overnight.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
IV. ECONOMIC & INFRASTRUCTURE IMPACT
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
* ENERGY: Brent Crude prices stabilized near $88/bbl as markets react
positively to the Trump-Xi agreement. However, IMF warnings persist that
prolonged conflict could pare global growth to 3.1% for the year.
* MARKETS: The Dow Jones Industrial Average finished above 50,000 today for
the first time since the war began, buoyed by "Peace Optimism" following
the Beijing summit.
* LOGISTICS: "Mullin Corridors" remain prioritized for the transit of
agriculture and energy supplies. Port throughput in Norfolk and Savannah
has returned to 95% efficiency following the severe weather earlier
this week.
