U.S. DAILY SITUATION REPORT (SITREP)
================================================================================
DATE: May 04, 2026 | TIME: 18:00 EST
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
[ BLUF: BOTTOM LINE UP FRONT ]
-----------------------------
MAY DAY CRISIS DAY 4: AVIATION THROUGHPUT PLUMMETS TO 25% AS TSA
"SICK-OUTS"
REACH CRITICAL LEVELS IN MAJOR HUBS. OPERATION EPIC FURY POSTURE SHIFTS AS
IRGC FORCES EXECUTE A RETALIATORY BARRAGE AGAINST ARTESH-HELD PIERS. A
MODERATE
RISK (LEVEL 4/5) OF SEVERE WEATHER IS ACTIVE FOR CENTRAL OKLAHOMA, WHILE
THE
"EVERGLADES COMPLEX" IN FLORIDA HAS SURPASSED 50,000 ACRES.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I. THE IRAN WAR (OPERATION EPIC FURY - DAY 66)
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
* INTRA-REGIME KINETICS: The "Artesh-IRGC Rift" turned into a localized
civil
war today. IRGC Quds Force elements launched mortar and drone strikes
against
Iranian Regular Army (Artesh) positions in Bandar Abbas after Artesh
officers attempted to allow a humanitarian vessel to dock without IRGC
clearance.
* BLOCKADE STATUS: 100% enforcement remains. U.S. Fifth Fleet has
established
a "Safety Corridor" 20 miles off the coast, offering extraction to
Artesh
vessels seeking to defect. Two Iranian corvettes have entered the
corridor
under white flags.
* RED SEA FRONT: Houthi rebels launched a coordinated "Swarm" attack of 15
one-way attack (OWA) drones against the USS Gravely; all targets were
neutralized by Phalanx CIWS and Directed Energy systems.
* STRATEGIC INTEL: Total Iranian oil exports remain at zero. Satellite
imagery confirms massive civil unrest in Tehran and Tabriz as fuel
shortages paralyze the domestic economy.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
II. HOMELAND SECURITY (DHS)
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
* FUNDING STATUS: EXTREME. The House remains in recess; no bridge
funding has
been released. Secretary Markwayne Mullin has authorized the "Essential
Resource Seizure" protocol, allowing DHS to commandeer private jet fuel
supplies at federalized airports to maintain National Guard mobility.
* OPERATION SECURE SKIES: Guard presence has been doubled at ORD, DFW, and
ATL. TSA absenteeism has hit a record 65% in the Northeast. DHS warns
that
"Total Airspace Lockdown" may be required by Wednesday if certified
screening staff numbers continue to dwindle.
* BORDER SECURITY: The "Purple Monster" array in the Laredo sector detected
a synchronized diversionary riot at the Bridge of the Americas.
Autonomous
thermal sensors successfully directed Guard units to a breach 2 miles
east,
preventing a mass-entry event.
* CYBER WATCH: CISA has issued a "Shields Up" advisory for the U.S. power
grid following a coordinated cyber-attack on a regional ISO in PJM
Interconnection territory.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
III. SEVERE WEATHER & WILDFIRES
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
* OKLAHOMA TORNADO OUTBREAK: A Level 4 (Moderate) risk is active for
Central
Oklahoma and Southern Kansas. A "High Probability" of EF3+ tornadoes
exists through 22:00 local time. Storm-chaser reports indicate 4-inch
"Gorilla Hail" already falling near Enid, OK.
* LOGISTICS IMPACT: Rail carriers have suspended all eastbound traffic
through
Oklahoma City. "Mullin Corridors" are being re-routed north through
Nebraska to avoid the storm core.
* WILDFIRES (PL-3 / Southern PL-4):
- FLORIDA: The "Everglades Complex" has grown to 52,000 acres. High
winds
from the approaching severe weather front are creating "fire
whirls" and
erratic spread. The Miccosukee Reservation remains under mandatory
evacuation.
- NEW MEXICO: The "Hermit’s Peak II" fire (6,000 acres) has breached the
Gallinas Canyon. Containment is at 0% due to 55 MPH gusts.
- CALIFORNIA: A new 500-acre start, the "Canyon Fire" in Riverside
County,
is threatening high-voltage transmission lines.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
IV. ECONOMIC & INFRASTRUCTURE IMPACT
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
* ENERGY: Brent Crude spiked to $93.40/bbl on news of the Bandar Abbas
infighting. Domestic gasoline averages have jumped to $4.55/gal in
major metro areas.
* SUPPLY CHAIN: The "Mullin Surge" in long-haul trucking is facing a driver
shortage as many commercial operators refuse to transit through active
tornado watches in the Plains.
* AVIATION: U.S. travel stocks (Airlines/Hotels) fell 8% today. Flight
cancellations for Tuesday, May 5, have already surpassed 3,500.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
