U.S. DAILY SITUATION REPORT (SITREP)
================================================================================
DATE: May 03, 2026 | TIME: 18:00 EST
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
[ BLUF: BOTTOM LINE UP FRONT ]
-----------------------------
MAY DAY CRISIS DAY 3: AVIATION THROUGHPUT HAS STABILIZED AT 35% CAPACITY AS
NATIONAL GUARD SHIFT LOGISTICS MATURE, BUT TSA "SICK-OUTS" EXCEED 60% IN
NORTHEASTERN HUBS. THE ISOLATED IRGC-ARTESH RIFT IN IRAN HAS ESCALATED TO
LOCALIZED FIRE-FIGHTS NEAR BANDAR ABBAS, COMPLICATING BLOCKADE
NEGOTIATIONS.
A SEVERE WEATHER THREAT TARGETS THE CENTRAL PLAINS TOMORROW, WHILE
FLORIDA'S
"HIGHWAY 41" FIRE HAS MERGED WITH NEW STARTS TO FORM THE "EVERGLADES
COMPLEX."
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I. THE IRAN WAR (OPERATION EPIC FURY - DAY 65)
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
* REGIME FRAGMENTATION: U.S. ISR has confirmed reports of "blue-on-blue"
kinetic
engagements between regular Iranian Army (Artesh) units and IRGC
hardliners
at the Shahid Rajaee port facility. Artesh commanders have reportedly
attempted to signal a "Local Truce" to the U.S. Fifth Fleet.
* BLOCKADE STATUS: 100% enforcement remains. Total floating storage is now
nearing 140 million barrels. CENTCOM has designated a "Buffer Zone"
around
Artesh-controlled piers to encourage further regime splintering.
* ASYMMETRIC THREAT: Houthi cells in Yemen launched three anti-ship
ballistic
missiles (ASBM) toward the Red Sea today; all were intercepted by the
USS Mason. No damage to coalition or commercial shipping.
* NUCLEAR WATCH: The IAEA blackout enters its 4th day. Intelligence
suggests
IRGC personnel have reinforced the Fordow enrichment site with
additional
surface-to-air missile batteries.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
II. HOMELAND SECURITY (DHS)
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
* FUNDING STATUS: CRITICAL. No legislative progress reported over the
weekend.
Secretary Markwayne Mullin has issued a "Survival Directive,"
prioritizing
the use of remaining DHS fuel reserves for the "Mullin Logistics
Corridors."
* OPERATION SECURE SKIES: National Guard personnel are now conducting
100% of
perimeter security and "ID-Verification" tasks. However, the lack of
certified TSA X-ray operators has forced the closure of 40% of security
lanes at JFK and EWR. Average wait times: 10+ hours.
* CIVIL UNREST: Tensions remain high at major travel hubs. Guard units used
non-kinetic crowd control measures to disperse a sit-in at SFO this
morning.
Sec. Mullin warned that "frustrations must not turn into lawlessness."
* CYBER WATCH: CISA has identified a "Worm" variant targeting state-level
unemployment systems, potentially intended to exacerbate the financial
strain on furloughed federal workers.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
III. SEVERE WEATHER & WILDFIRES
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
* NEW PLAINS THREAT: A Level 3 (Enhanced) risk is active for Central
Oklahoma
and Southern Kansas for tomorrow, May 4. Atmospheric conditions suggest
a risk for long-track tornadoes and "giant" hail (4-inch+ diameter).
* MID-ATLANTIC CLEANUP: Storms from yesterday have cleared the coast.
Damage assessment in North Carolina is ongoing; two fatalities confirmed
from a localized downburst near Raleigh.
* WILDFIRES (PL-3 / Southern PL-4):
- FLORIDA: The "Everglades Complex" (formerly Hwy 41 Fire) is now 38,000
acres. High-intensity fire behavior is being driven by 20 MPH winds
pushing flames toward the Miccosukee Reservation. Containment: 2%.
- GEORGIA: "Pineland Rd" fire is 25% contained. Cooler temperatures have
slowed the rate of spread, but deep-ground peat fires remain a
long-term
extinguishment challenge.
- NEW MEXICO: The "Hermit’s Peak II" fire has surged to 4,500 acres. Red
Flag warnings remain in effect for the entire I-25 corridor.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
IV. ECONOMIC & INFRASTRUCTURE IMPACT
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
* ENERGY: Brent Crude is trading at $89.90/bbl. The market is currently
weighting the potential for an Artesh-led "Peace Breakout" against the
threat of Houthi escalations in the Red Sea.
* LOGISTICS: "Mullin Corridors" report a 30% increase in freight volume as
shippers abandon air-cargo for long-haul trucking due to airport delays.
Diesel prices have spiked 15% in the Southeast due to fire-related
routing detours.
* AVIATION: U.S. airlines report a $4.5B loss for the first 72 hours of
the May Day crisis. Major carriers have requested an emergency
liquidity injection from the Treasury.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
