U.S. DAILY SITUATION REPORT (SITREP)
================================================================================
DATE: April 29, 2026 | TIME: 18:00 EST
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

[ BLUF: BOTTOM LINE UP FRONT ]
-----------------------------
OPERATION EPIC FURY REMAINS IN A "COLD BLOCKADE" AS TEHRAN REJECTS THE U.S.
DEMAND FOR NUCLEAR CONCESSIONS IN EXCHANGE FOR MARITIME ACCESS. THE DHS
FUNDING CLIFF IS NOW 48 HOURS AWAY; TSA STAFFING DEFAULTS TO NATIONAL GUARD
AUGMENTATION ON MAY 1ST. SEVERE WEATHER THREATS SHIFT TO THE GULF COAST AND
SOUTHEAST, WHILE FLORIDA'S "HIGHWAY 41" FIRE HAS EXPLODED TO 6,700 ACRES,
THREATENING STRUCTURES NEAR EVERGLADES NATIONAL PARK.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I. THE IRAN WAR (OPERATION EPIC FURY - DAY 61)
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
* DIPLOMATIC STALEMATE: The "Islamabad Stalemate" enters its third day.
Tehran
submitted a counter-proposal offering to reopen the Strait of Hormuz in
exchange for lifting the naval blockade, but notably excluded uranium
enrichment limits. The White House dismissed the offer as "non-serious."
* BLOCKADE STATUS: U.S. CENTCOM confirms the blockade line (Ras al Hadd to
the Iran-Pakistan border) is at 100% enforcement. Iran has
recommissioned
the VLCC "Nasha" to serve as floating storage near Kharg Island as
onshore
tanks reach capacity.
* HARASSMENT ATTACKS: Likely Iranian-backed militias launched
fiber-optic FPV
drones at Kuwaiti border posts late yesterday. No U.S. casualties
reported,
but the use of jam-resistant fiber-optics signals a shift in asymmetric
tactics during the diplomatic pause.
* INTERNAL REGIME PURGE: Intelligence indicates IRGC Commander Ahmad Vahidi
has consolidated power over "pragmatist" factions. Parliament Speaker
Ghalibaf has reportedly considered resignation after failing to secure a
more flexible negotiating position.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
II. HOMELAND SECURITY (DHS)
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
* MAY DAY PAYROLL CLIFF: Secretary Markwayne Mullin warns that the "One Big
Beautiful Bill" emergency funds will be exhausted by Friday, May 1st.
Over
1,000 TSA officers have resigned in the last 30 days due to the 69-day
funding lapse.
* AVIATION EMERGENCY: "Operation Secure Skies" is now in pre-deployment.
National Guard units are arriving at Tier 1 hubs (ATL, ORD, LAX, MIA) to
support checkpoint operations. Sec. Mullin warned of "Ground Stops" if
throughput falls below safety minimums.
* BORDER SECURITY: The "Purple Monster" array in the El Paso sector
detected
and neutralized a mass-crossing attempt by coordinating autonomous drone
interdiction. Sec. Mullin cited this as proof that "technology can fill
the gaps left by Congressional inaction."
* CYBER WATCH: CISA has issued a Level Red alert for the U.S. banking
sector
following a surge in state-sponsored "exit-scam" malware probes from
Iranian IP ranges.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
III. SEVERE WEATHER & WILDFIRES
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
* GULF COAST THREAT: The frontal boundary that spawned tornadoes in St.
Louis
is shifting south. A Level 2 (Slight) risk is active for Northern
Texas into
the Tennessee Valley. Primary threats include very large hail and
damaging
wind gusts.
* ST. LOUIS RECOVERY: Infrastructure repair continues following the EF3
tornado impact. The "Mullin Logistics Corridors" for rail are now 80%
operational, though localized power outages persist for 90,000 customers.
* WILDFIRES (PL-2 / Southern PL-4):
- FLORIDA: The "Highway 41" Fire (Miami-Dade) exploded to 6,700 acres
today with 0% containment. At least 8 structures are currently
threatened
in the Shark Valley area. Smoke is impacting travel on the Tamiami
Trail.
- GEORGIA: The "Pineland Rd" fire remains the state's largest
concern, with
143 structures confirmed destroyed to date. Extreme drought is fueling
"re-burns" in areas previously cleared.
- NEW MEXICO: Red Flag warnings are active for the eastern plains as
55 MPH
gusts threaten new starts.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
IV. ECONOMIC & INFRASTRUCTURE IMPACT
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
* ENERGY: Brent Crude rose to $85.10/bbl on news of the failed Islamabad
negotiations. U.S. retail gasoline national average: $4.21/gal.
* LOGISTICS: Port congestion in Houston and Mobile has increased by 15%
this week as security screenings of "High Risk" inbound vessels from the
Middle East intensify.
* AVIATION: United and Delta have announced a "May Day Surcharge" on last-
minute tickets to offset the costs of rerouting flights away from
potentially
understaffed hubs.
