U.S. DAILY SITUATION REPORT (SITREP)
================================================================================
DATE: April 28, 2026 | TIME: 18:00 EST
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
[ BLUF: BOTTOM LINE UP FRONT ]
-----------------------------
OPERATION EPIC FURY ENTERS A "COLD BLOCKADE" PHASE AS DIPLOMATIC
CHANNELS IN
ISLAMABAD REMAIN FROZEN. THE U.S. NAVAL CORDON HAS REACHED 100%
ENFORCEMENT,
HALTING ALL NON-AUTHORIZED ENERGY EXPORTS. DHS SEC. MULLIN HAS DECLARED A
"NATIONAL AVIATION EMERGENCY" EFFECTIVE MAY 1ST. A DESTRUCTIVE TORNADO
OUTBREAK IMPACTED THE ST. LOUIS METRO OVERNIGHT, WHILE "RED FLAG"
CONDITIONS
HAVE TRIGGERED NEW LARGE-SCALE WILDFIRES IN SOUTH FLORIDA.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I. THE IRAN WAR (OPERATION EPIC FURY - DAY 60)
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
* DIPLOMATIC STATUS: The "Islamabad Stalemate" persists into its 48th hour.
The White House has rejected Tehran's "open-access" proposal,
maintaining
that the naval blockade will only lift upon verified dismantling of
long-range drone launch sites.
* BLOCKADE ENFORCEMENT: U.S. Fifth Fleet confirmed the seizure of two
shadow-fleet tankers attempting a night-transit near the Musandam
Peninsula. One vessel, the "Persian Pearl," was diverted to Diego Garcia
following a non-kinetic boarding by SEAL Team 4.
* REGIONAL POSTURE: Jordan and Saudi Arabia have closed their airspace to
non-coalition military traffic. U.S. Cyber Command (CYBERCOM) reports
"sustained retaliatory probing" from Iranian-aligned groups targeting
Israeli and Emirati desalination plants.
* CASUALTIES: No U.S. combat casualties reported in the last 24H. Iranian
civilian reports indicate localized food riots in Bandar Abbas as the
maritime blockade begins to impact domestic supply chains.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
II. HOMELAND SECURITY (DHS)
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
* MAY DAY COUNTDOWN: Secretary Markwayne Mullin warns that the "May Day"
funding cliff is now 72 hours away. In a memo to the FAA, he signaled
that
without an immediate House vote on the Senate's $70B bridge, "Ground
Stops" will be implemented at 15 Tier 1 airports starting Friday morning.
* NATIONAL GUARD SURGE: Governors in 18 states have activated over 12,000
Guard members to begin "Operation Secure Skies." While Guard units will
man perimeter and crowd control, the lack of certified TSA screeners is
expected to reduce passenger throughput by 65%.
* BORDER SECURITY: The "Purple Monster" array detected a coordinated
"tunnel-breach" near Nogales. Autonomous sensors utilized ground-
penetrating radar to direct CBP tactical teams to the exact exit point,
resulting in 22 arrests and the seizure of 400kg of narcotics.
* POLICY: Sec. Mullin has indefinitely suspended non-essential DHS travel
and training to divert all remaining liquid funds into frontline payroll.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
III. SEVERE WEATHER & WILDFIRES
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
* ST. LOUIS DAMAGE ASSESSMENT: Last night's Level 4 outbreak resulted in
at least three confirmed tornadoes in the St. Louis metro area. Over
150,000 customers are without power. The "Mullin Logistics Corridors"
through the Midwest report a 12-hour rail delay due to debris on tracks.
* NEW SEVERE THREAT: A Level 2 (Slight) risk is in place for the Ohio
Valley tonight. Forecasters warn of training thunderstorms leading to
widespread flash flooding in Kentucky and West Virginia.
* WILDFIRES (PL-2 / Southern PL-4):
- FLORIDA: The "Alligator Alley" fire has expanded to 8,500 acres.
Interstate 75 was closed for six hours today due to zero-visibility
smoke conditions. Containment is at 15%.
- GEORGIA: The "Pineland Rd" fire is 20% contained. Better humidity
recovery today allowed for successful back-burning operations around
the Fargo perimeter.
- NEW MEXICO: A new Red Flag start, the "Hermit's Peak II" fire, is
estimated at 500 acres and moving toward private timberland.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
IV. ECONOMIC & INFRASTRUCTURE IMPACT
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
* ENERGY: Brent Crude spiked to $84.50/bbl as traders price in a "Long
Blockade" scenario. Analysts warn that if the Islamabad talks remain
frozen, retail gas could exceed $4.50/gal by mid-May.
* SUPPLY CHAIN: The Port of Houston reports a "Severe Congestion" alert
as seized vessels and increased security screenings slow container
turnaround by 40%.
* AVIATION: Domestic airfares for May have surged 30% as carriers
preemptively cancel flights in anticipation of the DHS funding lapse.
