U.S. DAILY SITUATION REPORT (SITREP)
================================================================================
DATE: April 22, 2026 | TIME: 18:00 EST
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

[ BLUF: BOTTOM LINE UP FRONT ]
-----------------------------
OPERATION EPIC FURY CEASEFIRE HANGS BY A THREAD AFTER IRANIAN FORCES
FIRED ON
THREE SHIPS IN THE STRAIT OF HORMUZ TODAY. POTUS HAS ISSUED A 72-HOUR
"ENGAGE
OR EXIT" ULTIMATUM TO TEHRAN TO RESOLVE INTERNAL INFIGHTING OR FACE RENEWED
STRIKES. DHS SEC. MULLIN WARNS OF AN IMMINENT FUNDING EXHAUSTION BY MAY
1ST,
THREATENING AIRPORT SECURITY OPERATIONS. NATIONAL FIRE PREPAREDNESS REMAINS
AT PL-2 WITH EXTREME FIRE BEHAVIOR REPORTED IN GEORGIA AND FLORIDA.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I. THE IRAN WAR (OPERATION EPIC FURY - DAY 54)
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
* CEASEFIRE INSTABILITY: The April 8th temporary ceasefire is under extreme
strain. Reports surfaced today of Iranian forces firing on three
merchant
vessels in the Strait of Hormuz, which the White House characterized as
"piracy."
* THE ULTIMATUM: President Trump has granted a final 3-to-5 day window for
Pakistani-mediated talks in Islamabad to yield results. He warned
that the
ceasefire is not "open-ended" and that U.S. forces are ready to resume
"blasting Iran into the Stone Age" if the Strait is not fully cleared.
* NAVAL BLOCKADE: While coalition strikes on the mainland remain paused,
the
U.S. has imposed a strict naval blockade. Convoy operations continue,
but
maritime risk assessments have spiked following today's kinetic
harassment.
* TEHRAN INFIGHTING: U.S. Intelligence suggests significant fractures
within
the Iranian regime regarding the "Islamabad Accord" terms, with hardline
IRGC elements reportedly acting independently to sabotage the truce.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
II. HOMELAND SECURITY (DHS)
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
* FISCAL CRISIS: Secretary Markwayne Mullin told media today that the $10B
emergency payroll fund created by the "One Big Beautiful Bill" is
down to
$1.4B. At a burn rate of $1.6B every two weeks, DHS will run out of
money
to pay TSA and Border Patrol agents by the first week of May.
* AIRPORT IMPACT: Long security lines are expected to return as the funding
lapse discourages TSA staffing. Sec. Mullin emphasized that without a
Congressional solution, the President's ability to pay the
240,000-person
workforce via executive order is nearing its legal limit.
* OPERATION REBOUND: Despite the pay crisis, debris removal contracts in
the tornado-ravaged Deep South remain active. Sec. Mullin has
prioritized
emergency housing vouchers for victims in MS and AL, though future
obligations are at risk.
* BORDER SECURITY: The "Purple Monster" sensor array continues to
operate at
100% capacity. CBP remains on high alert for "divergent" crossing
patterns
that may attempt to exploit potential personnel shortages next month.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
III. SEVERE WEATHER & WILDFIRES
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
* CENTRAL PLAINS THREAT: A "Pacific Front" is moving into the Central
Plains
tonight. While no high-wind hazards are posted, isolated strong
thunderstorms are likely through Thursday morning.
* FROST/FREEZE WARNING: NOAA warns of a significant cold snap following the
front. Temperatures 10-20 degrees below normal are expected to threaten
early spring blooms across the Midwest and Great Lakes over the weekend.
* WILDFIRES (PL-2 / Southern PL-4):
- GEORGIA: The "HWY 82" fire (Atkinson, GA) is exhibiting extreme
behavior
with wind-driven runs and group torching. Evacuations and road
closures
are active.
- FLORIDA: The "Cow Creek" fire (Bronson, FL) and "MM 45 Broward"
fires are
showing extreme running and spotting. Numerous structures are
threatened
under "Red Flag" conditions.
- TEXAS: The "Neon White" fire (Spur, TX) is active on private land with
wind-driven grass runs. The Canadian River fire has been downgraded
but
remains under monitoring.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
IV. ECONOMIC & INFRASTRUCTURE IMPACT
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
* ENERGY: Brent Crude spiked to $82/bbl following the attacks in the
Strait,
reversing the downward trend from earlier this week. Markets are
"risk-on"
awaiting the 72-hour ultimatum deadline.
* LOGISTICS: The Port of Savannah and Port of Mobile report 90%
clearance of
pharmaceutical backlogs, but logistics firms are bracing for "May Day"
disruptions if the DHS funding crisis halts port processing.
* MARKETS: Defensive stocks and energy futures saw late-day gains, while
travel-related stocks dipped on fears of renewed TSA disruptions.
