U.S. DAILY SITUATION REPORT (SITREP)
================================================================================
DATE: March 14, 2026 | TIME: 18:00 EST
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

[ BLUF: BOTTOM LINE UP FRONT ]
-----------------------------
OPERATION EPIC FURY ENTERS DAY 15 WITH STRIKES ON KHARG ISLAND TARGETING IRGC
ASSETS; A MARINE EXPEDITIONARY UNIT (MEU) IS EN ROUTE TO BOLSTER GULF SECURITY.
DOMESTICALLY, THE DHS SHUTDOWN HITS DAY 28 AS SENATE VOTES FAIL TO BREAK THE
DEADLOCK. NEBRASKA FACES THE LARGEST WILDFIRE IN STATE HISTORY WITH OVER
600,000 ACRES BURNED AND ONE FATALITY, WHILE A RECORD-BREAKING BLIZZARD
IS PRODUCING 100 MPH GUSTS ACROSS THE NORTHERN ROCKIES.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I. THE IRAN WAR (OPERATION EPIC FURY - DAY 15)
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
* STRIKE OPS: U.S. forces struck military sites on Kharg Island today. Pres.
Trump warned that oil infrastructure remains "untouched for now" but is
subject to reconsideraton if the Strait of Hormuz remains interdicted.
* DEPLOYMENT: The 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU) and USS Tripoli have
been ordered to the region. While no ground invasion is confirmed, the
MEU provides specialized capabilities for embassy security and evacuations.
* QUDS DAY STRIKE: An explosion rocked Tehran’s Ferdowsi Square during mass
rallies. Israel issued Farsi-language warnings via social media prior to
the blast; however, Iranian internet remains at a near-total blackout.
* NAVAL FRONT: 60 ships and 30 minelayers confirmed damaged or destroyed.
The Strait remains closed due to sea drone and mine threats.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
II. HOMELAND SECURITY (DHS)
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
* FUNDING LAPSE: Shutdown reaches Day 28. A Senate test vote failed to reach
the 60-yea threshold needed to end the lapse, with Democrats holding out
for reforms to ICE and CBP following incidents in Minnesota.
* LEADERSHIP: Nominee Senator Markwayne Mullin (R-OK) continues prep for
his March 18 confirmation hearing. Mullin plans to retain the majority of
current DHS staff despite the leadership transition from Kristi Noem.
* OPERATIONAL IMPACT: Over 300 TSA officers have reportedly resigned since
the shutdown began. FEMA and CISA operations are increasingly strained as
major domestic disasters (wildfires/blizzards) escalate.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
III. SEVERE WEATHER & WILDFIRES
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
* NEBRASKA WILDFIRES: Catastrophic "Morrill County Fire" has scorched 460,000
acres alone; total state burn exceeds 600,000 acres. Gov. Pillen confirmed
one fatality in Arthur County. State of Emergency in effect for 7 counties.
* BLIZZARD EMERGENCY: Record-breaking mid-March blizzard is hammering the
Northern Rockies (MT, WY, ID) with wind gusts of 100-160 km/h (60-100 mph).
Widespread snowfall of 1-3 feet is currently moving into the Great Lakes.
* WEATHER WHIPLASH: Arctic "Polar Vortex" air is following the storm,
set to drop temperatures 40-50 degrees across the Midwest and East by Sunday.
* NATIONAL PREPAREDNESS: National level at PL-1, but Southern Area (PL-2) and
Texas (PL-3) report extreme fire behavior.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
IV. ECONOMIC IMPACT
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
* ENERGY: Oil prices fluctuate as shipping in the Gulf remains paralyzed.
U.S. temporarily eased sanctions on certain Russian oil flows to stabilize
global markets during the Hormuz closure.
* INFRASTRUCTURE: Massive wind-driven power outages reported in PA, OH, and
MI, with nearly 450,000 customers currently without electricity.
