Good Day,

I am pleased to introduce the TPRFN Winlink-to-Packet Gateway, a tool designed to provide a vital "missing link" in digital eme
rgency communications. While most modern BBS systems can forward local packet mail to Winlink, the TPRFN Gateway automates the
reverse process, allowing verified Winlink users to reach specific local Packet BBS stations via a central handler (TPRFN@WINLI
NK.ORG). This address may change in a future version.

This interoperability could be critical for EmComm, as it bridges the "Global" layer of Winlink with the robust, U.S.-based pac
ket networks. This ensures that state-level EOCs and portable HF stations can move traffic bi-directionally across both network
s, even when commercial infrastructure fails.

Security and Administration
The service is currently in Beta and implements a "Triple-Lock" security system:

- Domain Verification: Filters for verified @winlink.org addresses.
- Callsign Pattern Matching: Uses Regex to ensure all senders and recipients use valid amateur callsigns.
- Strict Hierarchical Addressing: A "Smart Parser" automatically cleans subject lines to ensure compatibility with Packet BBS r
equirements.
- Dynamic Blacklist: The sysop can instantly block identifiers using an external text file that updates every five minutes.

User Instructions
To send a message from Winlink Express or other Winlink platforms to the Packet network, please follow these requirements:

1. To: Address the Winlink Message to TPRFN.

2. Subject Line: Use the format CALLSIGN@BBS.STATE.USA.NOAM (e.g., N3MEL@N3MEL.PA.USA.NOAM).
If the full packet address is entered, the message will still send. We are working to clean this up in a future version.

3. Content: Messages must be text-only. Do not include HTML formatting, attachments, or Winlink forms.

4. Structured Reports: If using a TPRFN html to text forms, please use the "Convert to Text" feature and paste the result into
the message body.

Initial testing indicates high reliability in message delivery and subject line sanitization. We look forward to this gateway e
nhancing the resilience of our digital communications chain.

When using this service depending on the current polling cycle in BPQ it could take as much as an hour for the message to enter
the packet network.

This tool adds additional capabilities to the Digital EmCOMM System and the TPRFN Network. This requires no changes to any of t
he current Hub Stations; it is designed as a use-it-or-don't resource.

Best regards,
