The OPS-2m-NW Net is a regular VHF simplex net for licensed amateur
radio operators across North West England, organised and run by the

Following a successful Thinking Day on the Air event for the Milton
Keynes guides, Milton Keynes Amateur Radio Society was asked by the
2nd Loughton Guide to run a follow up evening about amateur radio.
Special event callsign GB2LGG has been obtained and will be active
from 7pm to 9pm on Thursday the 19th of March. Activity will be on
QO-100 and the 40 and 17m bands. The station will be operating from
the Herons Lodge Guide Centre in Milton Keynes. During the evening
the guides will have an introduction to amateur radio, prepare
messages to exchange with other stations, play in Q-code dominoes,
callsign snap and other games, build snail Morse keys and ice their
initials in Morse code on biscuits.
