I feel for the orange growers here in Florida. Everyone sort of laughs when Florida has a freeze. Here is the reality, the orange trees are blooming right now.
The freeze will kill the blooms (unless the growers work really hard on keeping the warm air down on the ground and also run their sprinkler systems for the next 3 days straight), even then they may loose close to 75-80% of the blooms.
Our orange growers are already struggling with labor shortages yes, the prior administration’s immigration policy hurt them badly, rising fuel costs, and drought. Orange groves are being torn out and replaced with open fields or housing.
When you look and can’t find Florida Natural orange juice sometime soon, this crazy ass weather we are having is part of the problem.
