Facebook Post: Notes from Pat Tarditi

This is an awesome idea. Wish I had thought of this when I lived up North.

Most of you that know me, know I grew up on an island on the Jersey shore, 6 miles out, 18 miles long. In the winter it was kinda like living on Cheera, everybody knew you name and you knew theirs. I came home from work and put a pot of coffee on and wss thinking. Through any storm my mom had her coffee brewing and dad had his shots handy…it was a long time ago. All the plow guys, emergency plumbers, etc. knew this and would stop in to warm up.

I got a feeling and went to my local WaWa. I told the manager about this and asked if I could buy a $25 gift card to be used for the road crews out during the storm in honor of my mom and dad. (They have a special $1 coffee any size) She said that is awesome, she would make sure to let the replacing manager know. All I asked was they used the card and say thank you from a neighbor. She asked my name and I said, just a neighbor.

We were overheard and by the time I left wawa, 4 other people did the same. That equals 125 cups of coffee as a thank you. Sure they are paid OT, but they are out in the weather.

I am not posting this for anyone to think I am all that special, cause I am not. I did want to give others the idea and maybe go top their local wawa and do the same.

This is just another thing I was taught to do by a pair of awesome parents. I am still a bitch 🙂.
