..There is a Slight Risk (level 2/5) of severe thunderstorms over
parts of the Central Plains/Middle Mississippi Valley on Friday...
..Mixed precipitation for the Pacific Northwest and Northern
Intermountain Region through Saturday...
A front moving eastward off the Eastern Seaboard and low pressure
will produce rain with embedded thunderstorms across the Northeast
through Friday morning. By Friday afternoon, the low-pressure area
will move out over the Atlantic. In addition, a front lingering
over Florida will produce showers and thunderstorms over the
region through Saturday.
A second front over the Northern Rockies/Northern High Plains will
advance eastward to the Upper Great Lakes, then southwestward to
the Central/Southern Plains by Saturday. The western end of the
front will trigger showers and severe thunderstorms over parts of
the Central Plains on Thursday. Therefore, the SPC has issued a
Slight Risk (level 2/5) of severe thunderstorms over parts of the
Central Plains through Friday morning. The hazards associated
with these thunderstorms are frequent lightning, severe
thunderstorm wind gusts, hail, and a threat of tornadoes.
Additionally, mixed precipitation will develop for the Cascades
and the Northern Intermountain Region on Thursday morning.
A third front moves onshore over the Pacific Northwest overnight
Thursday, then moves inland over the Northwest and dissipates by
Friday morning. The boundary will produce rain and higher
elevation snow over parts of the Northern Cascades overnight
Thursday. Furthermore, onshore flow will keep rain and the highest
elevation snow over parts of the Cascades and Northern
Intermountain Region through Saturday.
On Friday, as the front moves across the Central Plain/Middle
Mississippi Valley, showers and severe thunderstorms will develop
over parts of the region. Therefore, the SPC has issued a Slight
Risk (level 2/5) of severe thunderstorms over parts of the Central
Plain/Middle Mississippi Valley from Friday into Saturday morning.
The hazards associated with these thunderstorms are frequent
lightning, severe thunderstorm wind gusts, hail, and a minimal
threat of tornadoes. Moreover, showers and thunderstorms will move
into parts of the Upper/Middle Mississippi Valley and the Great
Lakes/Ohio Valley Friday afternoon into Saturday morning.
