U.S. DAILY SITUATION REPORT (SITREP)
================================================================================
DATE: April 12, 2026 | TIME: 18:00 EST
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
[ BLUF: BOTTOM LINE UP FRONT ]
-----------------------------
OPERATION EPIC FURY CEASEFIRE ENTERS DAY 6. VP VANCE HAS CONCLUDED INITIAL
TALKS IN ISLAMABAD; REPORTS INDICATE A TENTATIVE FRAMEWORK FOR NEUTRAL
NAVAL
MONITORING IN THE STRAIT. DHS SEC. MULLIN HAS ORDERED AN EMERGENCY SURGE IN
CBP MANPOWER TO THE GULF COAST. A SEVERE WEATHER OUTBREAK IS EXPECTED IN
THE
SOUTHERN PLAINS TONIGHT, WHILE THE RED RIVER REACHES A CRITICAL
STABILIZATION
POINT FOLLOWING MINOR SECONDARY RISES.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I. THE IRAN WAR (OPERATION EPIC FURY - DAY 44)
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
* NEGOTIATIONS: VP JD Vance has wrapped the first round of the "Islamabad
Summit." While no formal treaty was signed, sources indicate a
"Preliminary
Security Accord" involving Pakistani and Omani naval observers to verify
non-interference in commercial shipping.
* CEASEFIRE STATUS: The pause remains in effect. However, U.S. Central
Command
(CENTCOM) reported a "provocative" move by IRGC-linked speedboats
near the
Kuwaiti maritime border; U.S. destroyers issued verbal warnings, and the
boats retreated without engagement.
* HORMUZ STATUS: Commercial traffic is now at 40% of pre-war levels. The
Pentagon has officially rejected the "Tollbooth" scheme proposed by
Tehran,
characterizing it as "state-sponsored piracy."
* ISR OVERWATCH: High-altitude Global Hawk sorties have detected Iranian
engineers attempting to repair the Kharg Island loading terminals. Under
the current truce, the U.S. has not interfered but signaled that
"economic
reconstitution" is not permitted under the ceasefire terms.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
II. HOMELAND SECURITY (DHS)
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
* MARITIME SURGE: Secretary Markwayne Mullin has ordered an "Emergency
Surge"
of CBP and Coast Guard personnel to the Port of New Orleans and Mobile.
The goal is to provide a security buffer for incoming fuel tankers as
Middle East energy exports begin to trickle back into the U.S.
* INFRASTRUCTURE: Following the Carolinas survey, Sec. Mullin confirmed
that
60% of previously "red-flagged" bridges in the flood-ravaged Southeast
are now under active repair. He credited the $1.2B contract unfreeze
for "saving the 2026 construction season."
* BORDER SECURITY: The "Purple Monster" sensor array in the Texas Panhandle
detected a major drug-trafficking "drone swarm" yesterday; CBP
interdicted
300 lbs of narcotics near Dalhart. Sec. Mullin called it a "monumental
win for autonomous defense."
* CYBER WATCH: CISA has issued a "Shields Up" reminder for the U.S. energy
sector, citing a 15% uptick in probing attempts originating from Russian
and Iranian digital IP ranges during the negotiation window.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
III. SEVERE WEATHER & WILDFIRES
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
* PLAINS STORM OUTBREAK: A Level 3 (Enhanced) risk of severe weather is in
place for Central Oklahoma and North Texas tonight. Primary threats
include
baseball-sized hail, 75 MPH winds, and a few strong tornadoes. Storm
initiation is expected along the "Dry Line" between 19:00 and 22:00
local.
* RED RIVER FLOODING: The Red River at Fargo (21.3 ft) saw a minor rise
today due to localized rain. While still in "Moderate" flood stage,
recession is expected to resume by Monday afternoon. Levee patrols
remain
on high alert for "boils" and seepage.
* WILDFIRES (PL-2):
- TEXAS: The "Purple Monster" fire is now 85% contained at 550 acres.
However, "Critical" fire weather returns to the area tomorrow with
predicted gusts of 50 MPH.
- FLORIDA: The "Hilux Fire" remains at 420 acres and 40% contained.
Humidity recovery has helped crews gain ground, but fire remains
smoldering in deep organic soil.
- ALABAMA: The "Williams Creek" fire (1,650 acres) is 25% contained.
Fire
behavior has been characterized as "persistent" due to heavy slash
loading.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
IV. ECONOMIC & INFRASTRUCTURE IMPACT
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
* ENERGY: Brent Crude is trading at $85/bbl. Prices remained stable today
as the market reacted favorably to the news of naval observers in the
Strait. U.S. retail gas averages $4.39/gal.
* LOGISTICS: The "Mullin Logistics Corridors" for heavy trucking are
reportedly operating at 110% of planned capacity, clearing the last of
the March pharmaceutical backlog.
* MARKETS: Agricultural futures are trending higher as the severe weather
risk in the Plains threatens early-season planting for winter wheat.
