Anyone loose a horse? Jesse tells me we have one the loose running up and down the driveway and our back fence. Ranger is not impressed and Leona wants to go get it. Oh, the problem? We don’t have any horses and my neighbors are all accounted for.

Oh, in other news I have dumped two long term Facebook friends who used my posts and friendship on Facebook to do something awful to someone else. Please just don’t be a FB friend to be a stalker. If you want to know something just ask and if it is none of your business I will tell you. But harm one of my friends while pretending to be one of mine? Nope.

A little vague for a reason? Yeh, because if this post gets back to who I think it will I will have to do more cleanup.

Hey All quick update as nothing much happened today. I am still here at Tampa General Hospital. They have moved me from heparin to lovenox and are waiting for it to settle at therapeutic levels. I am still waiting on an echocardiogram which may happen in the morning. My hematologist put in a consult for cardiology and pulmonologist but the attending has said that was not needed and I am not sure if that is going to happen. The mystery that no one has been able to solve is why I get so badly dehydrated. I was talking to one of the floor nurses about that as you would think after 5 or 6 hospital visits someone would worry about that. He suggested that I see an endocrinologist but has no idea how to convince my attending of this. I sent a message to my hematologist about it and will see if he can make it happen.
So I am in a holding pattern for now. I suspect that as usual nothing about root cause will happen and they will discharge me tomorrow without answers and we will do this again sometime over the summer as that is the pattern.

Still here. They have discontinued the heparin and are doing the transition to lovenox which will take about 24 hours. They still want to do another echocardiogram and who knows what else.

I have absolutely decided on how they select attending physicians in hospitals, they are the doctors who go through med school and have such crappy communication skills that they would never be able to practice on their own. The one I have fits this picture perfectly.

I will probably have to stay on the lovenox until I have another CT scan in a few months and then remove the partially blocked IVC filter.

Still here. They have me on heparin now to try and break up whatever clots that have developed. Still do not have a true game plan for what they plan on doing. Suspect it has something to do with New Year’s Day and the specialists may not be working.

    Waiting……waiting……..

Always listen tip your greyhound. Mindy started to alert a few weeks ago. She woke up two nights ago and snapped at Jesse’s toe. I am wondering if that was an on purpose issue. She got up last night about 3 or 4 tines and walk down side of bed past Rambo and Peanut and poked me. Yup, I am stubborn

I was stabilized in lake Wales and transferred to Tampa

  • August 13th is the date!

The last time I swam a competitive event was in May of 1985 in New York State while I was in college. Since then I have swum for fun and exercise, but have stayed away from anything competitive. First, having grown up in the pool swimming competitively I find that I get bored really easily. Second, while swimming was good to me in high school, I do not have a ton of fond memories from my years on teams. Third, most coaches attitudes are enough to drive someone insane.

So, at 52 years old I finally decided that I was going to take advantage of  a new challenge. Open Water swimming events. I did one or two of these when I was younger and looking back I had fun. So, on August 13, 2017 I am registered to do the Swim Miami Beach 5K.
    https://swimmiami.net/profile/swim-miami-beach

I believe I am in good enough shape and physical condition to complete this event. I have been swimming 6 times a week, usually doing between 3.5K and 5.2K a day. The one thing I am missing is open water swims because lakes in Florida are really not a place you want to swim and it is a little over an hour for me to drive to the East Coast.

  • Reading Modbus devices from Linux (or any system with Python)

    Problem:

Read a TCP/IP modbus device from a Linux server so that we can get power generated, energy generated, and voltages from our newly installed solar system.

    Solution:

Search the web and find MBUtils, an open source set of python libraries that allow you to communicate with Modbus devices and servers. They also allow you to communicate with PLC’s and other control devices.

The project is on sourceforge (love this site) as MBLogic http://mblogic.sourceforge.net/ I recommend downloading the full package because you will need to install the libraries as well as the pollmb utility package.  Follow the install directions in the readme file.
