  • Day 3 – Cincinnati, Houston, and Phoenix

Today was a day of travel. Early start to the day in Cincinnati to catch an 8:15am flight to Houston. Arrived in Houston around 9:30, and my flight to Phoenix does not leave until 1:12pm.

    Some pictures coming into Houston.

Some pictures showing the smoke from the CA wildfires along the way.

Upon arrival at Phoenix I went through the usual luggage, rental car pickup, and then had to rush out of the airport to go do an inspection South of Phoenix that has been lingering. Here is a picture from the roof of the building I was on. What a difference in scenery from yesterday.

After I was done with my inspection, I took some time to take some pictures of the mountains and the smoke that is rolling in from California. Air quality is awful right now.

Then back to the hotel to answer a ton of email, call home and talk with Jesse, and try and figure out what happened to my perfectly planned trip while I was in the air. Yes, there have been some changes, but you will get a chance to see what they are later this week.

I start with a very busy day tomorrow morning at 8.

  • Day 2 – Mason, Sugarcreek, Spring Valley, OH

Second day of travels took me from Mason, to Sugarcreek, Spring Valley, Ohio, and then back to my hotel for the evening in Erlinger, KY. Had two large loss claims (commercial and high dollar value), and one residential claim with geothermal systems. I like geothermal, if I am in the area I will always take geothermal claims.

    Day 2 Travels

Along the way I came across this neatest little park in the woods that deserved some attention. Had a replica of an old blacksmith shop and a maple sugar house. Of course we can’t forget about the wasps in the ground that almost got me.

    Spring Valley
Didn’t know there was a Little Miami

Then headed back to the hotel to find something to go see in the evening. I try to find something every afternoon or evening to see in the area I am traveling to. Today I wanted to find someplace to access the river. Finally found a spot in Giles Conrad Park on the Kentucky side of the river.

As always if you click on the images below you can do neat things with them. They are panoramic.

Tomorrow I start early, fly to Houston and on to Phoenix. See you there.

  • Mason, OH

Finally arrived for night 1 in Mason, OH. This will be a one night stay before I complete three inspections tomorrow. No daylight pictures of Mason, but here are some nice evening shots I got. I love the lights in the 360 Panoramic views.

  • On the road again!

That should be “In the air again … almost.” Flying out of Tampa this afternoon for a 10 day trip that will take me to five states in the process. I rarely blog about my trips, but I decided that this time I would have some fun doing this. As many of you know I am a Technical Field Manager for HVACi (HVAC Investigators) which is part of Consolidated Claims Group IQ. We do Cause of Loss investigations for most of the major insurance companies in the country when there is a claim regarding anything HVAC/R, electrical, or electronics. There are four of us who are Technical Field Managers, and during the busy season one of our roles is to go help the local technicians get caught up when they fall behind, provide support and training to our technician base, provide technical support to our processors and report writers, and do loss evaluations on the large commercial claims which require special handling.

Getting Ready – Tampa International Airport Gate E75

So, once this thunderstorm clears and we can leave the gate, I am on my way to Cincinnati to start the work week.

  • Firmware Update Success

As I am getting ready to leave on another business trip I decided to make sure that the firmware on my DJI Mavic 2 Pro drone was up to date. Then, because I do not trust developers, I always test. It was a nice sunny afternoon in Babson Park, FL. Enjoy a few 360 Panoramic views. Stay tuned and see what else comes your direction this week.

If you click on any of these pictures you will be able to move the 360 panorama around with your trackpad, mouse, or smartphone movement.

  • What happened to the old site?

Welcome to my re-organized WordPress site. Because of an opportunity that I had been waiting for I closed the HVAC/R portion of Christopher Molnar, LLC as continuing it would have been a conflict of interest with my new position. I am now working as a Technical Field Manager for HVAC Investigators, part of CCGIQ. This change of business model was effective on March 31, 2021.

To make it clear we are no longer doing any HVAC/R field (inspection, repair, installation) services. The training portion of my business through YouTube and training.christophermolnar.com remains untouched and will continue to be updated. There will be some additional HVAC/R related courses available shortly and the announcements will be posted here.

I am going to continue to use this site to share important aspects of HVAC/R, Life, Education, and just general musings here and there. I may also occasionally surprise you with drone footage as well as some pictures from my business travels.

I love teaching, I love training, and I will continue to do that through this platform and through my YouTube channel. I will provide links to various YouTube training videos here, as well as on my channel at https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCOn2qyWDn4CzkHtFofSbL-g

The stash arrived! Of course it was left next to the road rather than at the front door, miracle it was still there. And the ants didn’t get it this time.

I hate waiting on company’s 4 hour windows to come and complete a job. We have 1 hour left in the window for the technician to show up and complete the work (that is supposed to take 1 hour). I have places to be and schedules to keep.

She makes me go out into the yard, in a robe, to go get her…… I get to her and she runs back to the door and looks at me, like “what took you so long?”
