Solar Activity

.24 hr Summary...
Solar activity was at low levels. X-ray activity was limited to
low-level C-class events with a few appearing to have originated from a
returning region just beyond the northeast limb. Region 4520 (S12W13,
Dai/beta) gained additional spots and penumbra and produced a C2.6/SF
flare at 31/1516 UTC, which was the largest event of the period. Regions
4521 (N09E60, Hsx/alpha), 4522 (N13W22, Bxo/beta) and 4523 (N10E70,
Hax/alpha) were all numbered in the past 24 hours, but were relatively
quiet. No Earth-directed CMEs were observed in available coronagraph
imagery.

.Forecast...
Solar activity is expected to remain at low levels with a slight chance
for M-class (R1-R2/Minor-Moderate) activity through 03 Sep.

Energetic Particle

.24 hr Summary...
The greater than 2 MeV electron flux reached high levels with a peak
flux of 2,010 pfu at 31/1445 UTC. The greater than 10 MeV proton flux
was at background levels.

.Forecast...
The greater than 2 MeV electron flux is expected to reach high levels
through 03 Sep. The greater than 10 MeV proton flux is expected to
continue at background levels through 02 Sep.

Solar Wind

.24 hr Summary...
Solar wind parameters were at nominal levels. Total magnetic field
strength reached a peak of 5 nT, while the Bz component was +/- 5 nT.
Solar wind speeds gradually decreased to ~400 km/s. The phi angle was
predominately positive.

.Forecast...
Solar wind conditions are expected to return to ambient levels over the
course of 01 Sep and remain at ambient levels through 03 Sep.

Geospace

.24 hr Summary...
The geomagnetic field was quiet.

.Forecast...
Mostly quiet levels are expected to prevail through 03 Sep.
