USA EXTREME WEATHER & STORMS
TORNADO ACTIVITY: US experiencing worst tornado season in 14 years .
No active tornado warnings currently in effect. Recent severe
storms produced multiple tornado reports across southern plains
and Midwest with damaging winds and hail damage reported.
FLOOD STATUS: Severe thunderstorms expected from east Texas into
southeast Iowa and Illinois with strong tornado and damaging wind
potential from central Arkansas into central Missouri; heavy to
excessive rainfall may bring new or renewed flooding areas . Flood
warnings active in multiple Midwest states.
ACTIVE WEATHER: First Alert Weather Day in effect with periods of
rain expected late morning into afternoon with 0.25-0.50 inches
rainfall possible. Excessive heat continues with morning lows near
80 degrees and afternoon highs reaching around 100 degrees
Saturday.
MONITORING: No active hurricanes. Currently no tornado warnings in
effect . Regional severe thunderstorm threat continues through
today and tonight.
