USA EXTREME WEATHER & STORMS
ACTIVE STORMS: Severe thunderstorms tracked from southern Plains to
Upper Midwest with strong tornado and damaging wind potential from
central Arkansas into central Missouri. Severe thunderstorms
expected from east Texas into far southeast Iowa and Illinois.
Tornado watches active across region with 13 million persons in
path.
FLOOD STATUS: Heavy to excessive rainfall from eastern Texas into
Midwest states bringing new or renewed areas of flooding. National
Weather Service issued flood warnings for areas on either side of
river in 10 states from Minnesota and Wisconsin south to Louisiana
and Mississippi.
CURRENT THREAT LEVEL: Flash flood and severe thunderstorm warnings
active across US. US experiencing worst tornado season in 14
years.
NO ACTIVE TROPICAL: No active hurricanes currently reported in
latest surveillance data.
