USA EXTREME WEATHER & STORMS
FLOODING STATUS: Heavy to excessive rainfall could bring flooding
today through Thursday across parts of the central Plains into the
Midwest and southern Arizona and New Mexico. Flash flooding
disrupts travel across New York, New Jersey.
TORNADO/THUNDERSTORM ACTIVITY: A strong tornado and damaging wind
potential will exist from central Arkansas into central Missouri.
Scattered strong to severe thunderstorms may impact parts of
eastern Nebraska into western Iowa later today into early evening.
HEAT ADVISORY: Heat Advisories remain in place across much of east
Texas into the mid-Mississippi Valley today and Tuesday. Heat
index values were forecast up to 45°C (113°F) in southern Texas
and 44°C (112°F) in parts of Arkansas and Oklahoma.
NORTHEAST OUTLOOK: A cool air mass is forecast for portions of the
Northeast at the onset of week-2 bringing chances for first frosts
and freezes to parts of the region.
