Bulletin Message:
The National Interagency Fire Center (NIFC) is operating at Preparedness Level 5 (PL 5) due to high fire activity across multip
le regions.
National Overview
* Year-to-Date Activity: 45,184 wildfires have burned over 5.46 million acres across the U.S.
* Active Incidents: Firefighters are managing 94 uncontained large fires nationwide, with more than 3.26 million active acres
currently burning.
* Personnel Committed: Over 28,700 personnel are deployed, supported by 27 Complex Incident Management Teams, international pe
rsonnel from Australia and New Zealand, and military MAFFS C-130 airtankers.
Regional Breakdown
* Pacific Northwest (Washington & Oregon): Serves as the national priority area with 49 uncontained large fires. Oregon leads
the nation with 32 large incidents (including the Big Grass, Coleman Creek, and Rowe Creek Complex fires). Washington has 16 la
rge fires, including the Sinlahekin Fire (>117,000 acres) and Little Giant Fire (>70,000 acres).
* Great Basin & Idaho: Significant activity across Idaho (7 large fires, including the 138,000+ acre Tartar Fire), Utah (Widem
outh 2 Fire growing rapidly), and Nevada (Ward Fire exhibiting extreme behavior).
* Northern Rockies & California: Active fires continue across Montana (9 large fires), California (5 large fires), and Colorad
o (5 large fires).
* Other States: Large active incidents are also being managed in Minnesota (6), Florida (2), New Mexico (2), Oklahoma (1), and
Texas (1).
Weather Outlook
Hot, dry, and windy conditions persist across the West with low relative humidity (4–10%) and gusty winds. Isolated dry thund
erstorms remain a concern across southern Colorado and northern New Mexico.
