The painters are here. Man, I wish I had learned Spanish when I was in school.
For those wondering, normally Jesse Pannell does all the painting in every house we have ever owned, but this time we decided that we would have someone come in and do the living room, dining room, hallways, and family room. The ceiling are too high in most of the area, the walls are a very dark color, and we also really wanted just to get it done.
These are the before photos so that you can get an idea of why this needs to be painted. The 1970’s called and they want their paint back.
Excuse the mess in the family room, I am out of places to stash things to clear the pace for the painters.

Res ventured down into the mysterious “basement” room today. He had some issues getting back up and needed help. Then he came down a second time and tried to avoid the steps (by jumping down them), I caught him before he made it to far and made him walk the rest of the way.
Res: But Dad, Angel Ranger used to do it!
Me: No, Ranger did not jump down them, Ranger jumped up them, and Ranger had skill!
Res: I have skill too…..
Me: How about you prove you can walk them first?
Res: Walking them is over-rated. Jumping is more fun.
Me: NO!!!! You do not pay your own vet bills.
And another shocking moment for Jesse Pannell, he just opened a jar of rice so that Res could have chicken and rice for dinner tonight. The jar blew the top off, like a bottle of champaign, clear into the dining room next to the kitchen. Jar has not been opened since it was moved from Florida.
I think he needs to wear safety glasses and a hard hat prior to opening any more containers.
OK all…. It is official, after a lot of seller agent trying to re-write contract issues, we are finally in possession of our new house.
Get this, the seller wanted to hold off on transferring property until his granddaughter could come and say “goodbye to the house”. I almost lost my $h&t.
But, it’s ours now and tomorrow after I get internet installed I will be able to start the setup on everything I need to do.
Step 1: Replace this damn thermostat that barely works!!!!
Step 2: All locks and garage door access codes.
Step 3: Change the irrigation controller to one we can actually program.
Step 4: Meet with electrician tomorrow.
Step 5: Get someone willing to crawl into the attic to re-attach a vent pipe (I am too old for that, and I am feeling the affects of altitude right now).
Step 6: Figure out where to put all the plants that I moved out here so they get watered.
I have no idea what steps 7-10 are. But I am sure it will come to me.
