  • Facebook Post: Notes from Pat Tarditi

This is an awesome idea. Wish I had thought of this when I lived up North.

Most of you that know me, know I grew up on an island on the Jersey shore, 6 miles out, 18 miles long. In the winter it was kinda like living on Cheera, everybody knew you name and you knew theirs. I came home from work and put a pot of coffee on and wss thinking. Through any storm my mom had her coffee brewing and dad had his shots handy…it was a long time ago. All the plow guys, emergency plumbers, etc. knew this and would stop in to warm up.

I got a feeling and went to my local WaWa. I told the manager about this and asked if I could buy a $25 gift card to be used for the road crews out during the storm in honor of my mom and dad. (They have a special $1 coffee any size) She said that is awesome, she would make sure to let the replacing manager know. All I asked was they used the card and say thank you from a neighbor. She asked my name and I said, just a neighbor.

We were overheard and by the time I left wawa, 4 other people did the same. That equals 125 cups of coffee as a thank you. Sure they are paid OT, but they are out in the weather.

I am not posting this for anyone to think I am all that special, cause I am not. I did want to give others the idea and maybe go top their local wawa and do the same.

This is just another thing I was taught to do by a pair of awesome parents. I am still a bitch ๐Ÿ™‚.

Hey all! I am sharing this with friends except for two (on purpose). I know many people enjoy Nicole Crossland’s pictures of the pups and everything. I just found out there is a wedding shower coming up as she is getting married this Summer. Wish I had known earlier!

They are registered at Bed Bath And Beyond. Just putting this out there for those that may want to pick a small something to send.

Yup, time to give up for the evening. I just got a student email:

“Hey Mr. Molnar, Hope you are doing well my love….just having a slight problem. With the new cloud system I am having a hard time getting into the site, the labs and the lectures. I must have forgotten the passwords and the usernames I have. I apologize in advance for this set-back! If there is any way possible you could re-set any usernames with passwords and shoot me the new ones in an email….that would be highly appreciated! Thank you greatly, ”

So many things wrong with that email. My response?

“Please contact your instructor in a professional manner and remember you are talking to a member of the faculty. They will be happy to open a bug with the required information and we will then reset your passwords. If you do not know why the email you sent me is unprofessional please ask your instructor.
Have a great evening. -Dr. Molnar”

Yeh, remind me to work extra hours to jump all over that one. Jennifer Frank did you send me one of your students?

Good Morning all! It is 44 degrees here in Babson Park, FL according to the backyard weather thingy – I guess winter in Florida has set in. I admit it, it was a bit chilly outside this morning, How do I know? Well, the dogs went out, in, out, in, out, in, out, in…. you get the picture. Of course they wait until I sit down in my chair to decide to make another “out” ๐Ÿ™‚ Anyways, everyone have a great day!

Good morning all! It is 46 degrees here in Babson Park, FL according to the very chilly backyard weather thingy. Yesterday morning we were about 12 miles from where one of the tornado’s ended. We had very little damage, a blown over fence, some outdoor furniture moved around, could have been way worse. Heart goes out to those who lost loved ones and their homes in the storm. On today’s agenda? Work. Yup, the powers that be decided that starting a new term on MLK day is a great idea. Again. We will see how many of our new students actually show up. Well, yes, I am back from my FB vacation. Missed my friends, but have promised myself that others drama is not my own and I will not be a part. Have a great day everyone.

If anyone read last nights post on health issues and is interested. One of the docs got back to me this morning. Here’s his opinion, and I tend to agree as it makes sense and goes along with all my research. This has has happened to me on three occasions in the last 3 years (the perfect weight drop, the sudden weight gain, and then into the hospital we go). This time I am fortunate to have recognized it.

Anyways, what is going on is that I have to stop taking the diuretics. It seems they are causing me to drink way too much water which is probably affecting other things in my body (electrolytes, hormones, etc). I am drinking around 120 ounces of water a day, way too much. The other thing is that one of the diuretics I am on prevents the absorption of some hormones, one of them being testosterone, which it seems plays a big part in my long runs and my training for the 1/2 marathon. This explains some muscle aches, tingling, and other stuff that is going on.

So the doc thinks that by getting off the diuretics, allowing my body to process water normally while I am doing all the running I am doing is the best thing. I am to keep a log of water, weight, and food. He wants as low sodium as possible. He wants weights in the AM, then after my run, and PM and wants me to hydrate to keep my weight as steady as possible without the use of the diuretics. You know, it makes sense and I can do this.

I am tagging a few people that helped me last night talk this problem through and got me off the ledge. Didn’t mean to miss anyone.
